Chantal Simon Sévère

What is your career path?

I graduated from EM Normandy (for the older ones, “SUP DE CO Le Havre/Caen) in 1994, after a year of preparatory class.

I started my career in the industry sector, with a first internship for BOLLORE export department. I was then a marketing assistant at HISPANO-SUIZA. Once graduated, I joined the SIDEL Group (TETRA LAVAL group) in Le Havre, as an international “Marketing Research Analyst”.

I had an opportunity to come back to Brittany in 1998 and joined BEAUMANOIR Group (ready-to-wear) to handle operational marketing and communication campaigns for CACHE-CACHE brand. In 2003, I was offered to develop the group’s communication department and to manage external projects communication (public relations, sponsoring, website and communication media, etc.) and internal projects (internal newsletter, intranet, events, etc.).

I chose to join ESC Rennes Alumni team 3,5 years ago, as the General Manager of the network. My  goal is to bring the community of ESC Rennes graduates to life, to develop and structure the services and tools proposed to the members and to manage the Association communication and promotion. ESC Rennes Alumni network is still young, our ambition is to make it a true accelerator of career and business opportunities. What a fascinating challenge !

What is your mission?

In relation with the Association President, the employees and volunteer members, my mission consists in :

  • define strategic directions of the Association and coordinate the implementation of the annual action plan
  • follow the operational achievment of the projects
  • supervise the design of communication tools and events organisation
  • manage the budget, in relation with the treasurer

It is structured around several lines:

  1. Communication field: define the communication plan, manage the projects and develop tools dedicated to make the Association and its services known.
  2.  Network life: develop events in order to federate the network.
  1. Career management: in cooperation with the Career Department team, put in place support tools for graduates (and future graduates) at every step of their professional lives.
  1. Alumni database : monitoring of annual update surveys to graduates and statistics for ranking and accreditations, process optimization
  1. Activity management :
  • coordinate the team,
  • hold quaterly Committee meetings,
  • follow performance indicators
  • draw up the annual budget in relation with the treasurer
  • representation to other alumni networks and school departments.

What are the network main priorities?

  • Make the Association and its services known to increase the number of active members
  • Develop the number of events proposed to the members (Alumni and students)
  • Support graduates in their career path
  • Unite members and inspire a solidarity spirit inside the network

What are 2016 new projects?

Several projects will appear this year, such as:

  • Organising graduates Gala party and set up an « Alumni Day » in Rennes School of Business
  • The deployment of a cycle of career workshops
  • The development of our communication media and our digital communication
