Jack-Paul DAVIDSON - PGE 1 President - RENNES SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ALUMNI |
|
What is your career path?
I left the school in 1993 and started working in 1994 in the City, 2 years as a broker at now Prebon Tullet, around 3 years at Standard and Poor’s – Structured Finance ending up as an Associate Director and finally around 2 years as a Senior Credit Analyst for a joint venture between Crédit Agricole and Lazard. I then joined Crédit Agricole in Paris and held positions in various jobs, all linked to Credit Risk.
What is your mission?
My job is to build credit risk rating models that are both compliant with the regulations and the end-users’ needs.
What are the network main priorities?
They could be summed up as follows : we are optimizing our resources in order to have the most exhaustive and reliable Alumni database, and whilst doing so we are increasing the opportunities for people to meet via the expansion of the clubs across all the dimensions possible (Geographically, by business sectors, by non-work related activities), maintaining a close relationship with the school and the students in the process.
What are 2016 new projects?
One of the main changes for 2016 will be for the “Trophées Entrepreneurs” to have, deservedly, its own event, I firmly believe entrepreneurship is in our DNA and it is also something, and not only on the work front, that makes you stand out from the pack. As for the next 10 years, it is highly dependent on the Alumni but we certainly want to be in every country and involved in every industry they are in.
What are your last and next actions for the network?
I was at the AGM trying to promote, amongst other things, the creation of new clubs, whether I succeeded or not, time will tell…One of my next ambition is to be more involved in the Finance Club, and along the same lines I will take the opportunity of the arrival of our investment arm at our headquarters to try and meet as many Alumni as possible and put the ESC Rennes firmly on my company’s map, something that we will try to extend to other banks and more generally to blue-chip companies here in France and abroad.
