Tristan THIERRY won the PUM'REWARDS Career Award, a prize that acknowledges his involvement as an alumnus who shared the most job offers on our Alumni website.

 

Can you briefly describe your career at Rennes SB?

 

After an HEC preparatory course, I joined RSB in 2017 as part of the Programme Grande École (PGE). During my studies, I had the chance to create with my colleagues the R'Store association, the official store of the school and its other assos. I also had the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in Mexico, more specifically at ITESO in Guadalajara. In 2021, I left Rennes Business School with a Bac +5 in my pocket and a Master's degree in Retail and Business Development 🎓.

 

Tell us about your career

 

As far as my career path is concerned, I was able to use the bridges offered by the PGE to carry out two internships: the first was a six-month internship as Proxi Area Manager for the Labeyrie Fine Foods group (Labeyrie, Blini, etc.) in Paris.

A second internship, also lasting six months, as Supermarket Sector Manager in North Brittany for Danone, more specifically within the Waters division (Volvic, Evian, Badoit, Salvetat).

 

I wanted to continue in this world of supermarkets by doing my last year of Master 2 as a work-study student at Ferrero (Kinder, Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, Tic-Tac etc.) still as a Supermarket Sector Manager, this time in Rennes📍.

 

At the end of my work-study program, I was recruited by a competitor, Lindt: Lindt, where I held the position of Area Manager for the Rennes-West sector for two years. In October 2023, I joined Lyreco in a managerial position, as Head of SME Sales for the Brittany branch.

 

My current position

 

At Lyreco, I'm Head of Sales, which means I manage a team of 10 salespeople in the Brittany region. Our common mission as a team is to achieve the sales targets set by the sales department, while respecting the company's pricing policy.

Operating in the sales sector dedicated to SMEs, our target customers are BtoB companies with between 6 and 99 employees.

 

My day-to-day job? Ensuring that my sales staff enjoy their work, supporting them in the field and helping them to develop their skills. This involves business management, recruitment, training and coaching to ensure that objectives are met. In a single day in the field, we can go from the sex shop to the funeral parlour to the notary's office. We can talk about A4 paper as well as safety shoes, coffee, hand towels and computers. A wide variety of products and customers.

At Lyreco, the position of SME Sales Representative is a strategic one. It's a 100% field position, whose mission is to ensure the growth of economic indicators in a given geographical area. A true entrepreneur in his sector, who steers, analyzes, negotiates and, above all, sells 💼.
